Finch & Ada is proud to present its debut curatorial exhibition, The Pleasure is All Mine, composed of thirteen talented artists who express pleasure and happiness through the fine arts. The exhibition opens on Thursday, March 24 at 6pm and features the following artists: Toby Burrows, Bill Durgin, Dolly Faibyshev, C. Finley, Maciek Jasik, Jan von Holleben, Jonathan Levitt, Diane Russo, Aline Smithson, Rachel Styer, Justin Walker, Rachael Warner, Jill Waterman and Logan White.
Happiness, joy, bliss, humor, family, fortune, satisfaction, memory and at times even subversion can be methods and means of achieving pleasure. In The Pleasure is All Mine, we hope to create smiles, lightness, and joy for our viewers. This exhibition was initially conceptualized as a response to the scarcity of contemporary exhibited work dealing with uplifting themes. Pleasure is an important and necessary part of human existence. The pursuit of happiness is both essential and mystifying to us all. Through this exhibition we hope to change the perception of pleasure, as more than the erotic and indulgent, and provide a shared experience that will bring delight to many. |
